If you are thinking to buy a console or a pc here are the major points which will help you to find out which one should you buy.

1. Purpose

First, you need to find out what you want to do in your system; whether you will just play games or you will edit photos and videos or do coding.

In the console, you can only play games, watch movies or listen to music and cannot do productive tasks like photo editing, video editing, etc.

Whereas in pc you can do everything from coding to gaming.

2. Budget

If you only want to play games and your budget is low you can go with a console undoubtedly.

Consoles are valued for money in their price range as at the same price you cannot build a pc which will give you the same performance as that of a console.

Consoles have a budget limit whereas in PC there are no limits you can buy just a processor whose price is equal to and even much greater the whole console.

3. Performance

It’s clear that pc can give you the best performance than any other console but you need to spend a huge amount of money to get the best performance.

4. Flexibility

A PC provides you the maximum flexibility in choosing the components of the system, you can choose any component of any brand and design according to your choice and your needs.

You are not bound to SONY or MICROSOFT.

5. Upgradeability

This is the most important feature of a PC.

You can upgrade or change any component of your system at any time according to you.

For example, recently Nvidia has revealed its 3000 series graphics card (3070, 3080, and 3090) which will give you double the performance as that of the previous generation and at half the price. So if you have a PC and the graphics card is compatible with your motherboard you can upgrade it.

But in a console, you cannot change or upgrade a single part.

6. Games

On a console, you cannot get very good free games and also you need to take a subscription to get free games.

But on PC you often get good free games offered by different websites like Epic games or steam. Everyone knows that GTA 5 was free on epic games, Hitman 2016 was free in august on the same website.

7. Recording Gameplay

You cannot record gameplay in ps4 for more than 15 minutes whereas in PC you can record for an unlimited time, as long as you can play the game.

Also, there is no option in the PlayStation to edit the recorded gameplay.

You can easily edit the gameplays in your PC and upload it to your youtube channel if you have a one.

8. Idle System

When you have no games to play on your PlayStation what will you do, it is of no use until you buy a new game.

In PC still, you can do editing of a photo or a video, web development, deep learning, etc. i.e. you have a lot many things to do either than playing games.

NOTE:

  • Usually, when we talk of a console it is PlayStation.
  • Sony does one thing wrong that, it deals with the game developers and release exclusive games and doesn’t allow the games to release on PC. Most of the people buy PlayStation for exclusive games not because the console is very good. If SONY made such a good console then why it does deal with the game companies.
  • YouTuber Foxy UK Games claimed that he caught wind of a $750,000,000 deal being brokered between Sony and Rockstar to secure a 30-day exclusive launch of GTA 6 on the PS5 in a video he uploaded on his youtube channel.
